God's people gather AGAIN around their Savior, Jesus, even though the Festival of Easter was last week! This week we see 10 of Jesus disciples in great fear in the Upper Room. It's the evening of Easter & Jesus appears to them. What a powerful moment! Will He scold them, or do something else? Great Easter hymns are sung as we receive God's Gifts to us in Word & Sacrament. The sermon title is: "Believing IS Seeing!" based on John 20:19-31.

Midweek Devotion, Thurs., 04.21.22

Worship Time Change
Regular 5pm Saturday evening services will be held on Mondays at 7pm for the summer months. Beginning the Monday after Memorial Day Weekend (June 6th), our Saturday evening service will be moved to Mondays at 7pm. This worship day and time will be in play throughout the summer. Please note: NO 5pm Worship Services on Saturdays, May 21st, May 28th, and June 4th.

Joint Congregational Meeting- Saturday, April 23rd @ 9am

As you’ve read in our newsletters, for the past 13 months, Pastor Rock and lay representatives of our congregation have been meeting with similar representatives from St. John and St. Paul Lutheran Churches of Beecher. The purpose of the meetings of this “working group” was to explore joint ministry opportunities for the three congregations. Facilitators from both the district and synod met with us on two meeting nights – not telling us what to do; rather, helping us to better “see the forest in spite of the trees.”
The group asked the three pastors to develop a proposal that would describe how such “joint ministry opportunities” might actually look. They were to keep in mind the findings and conclusions developed at the previous meetings of the working group.
On Tuesday, April 5th, the pastors presented that proposal to the rest of the group. Following questions and discussion, the working group unanimously agreed to ask that a meeting of members of all three congregations be put together. All three congregation’s chairmen subsequently agreed to this request of a meeting.
Accordingly, this coming Saturday, April 23rd, everyone from all three congregations is asked to come to St. John (28054 S. Yates, Beecher) at 9am. The same presentation previously given to the working group will be given to all who attend. Of course, following the presentation, time will be available for questions. Please plan to attend this important meeting. The meeting is expected to conclude before noon. Please see Pastor if you have any questions. We hope to see you there!

God's people come together to rejoice at the fact of Jesus resurrection from the dead! Because He lives, we too, shall live! Some of our youth participate in this service! The sermon on Easter is entitled: "1883, 2022, ____" based on Luke 24:1-12.

Christ is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed! Alleluia! God's people come together to rejoice at the accomplishment of our salvation from sin, death, & everlasting punishment. Gorgeous Easter hymns handed down to us from those faithful ones who have gone before us are sung. Our choir also sings. The Easter sermon is entitled: "1883, 2022, ____" based on Luke 24:1-12.

Good Friday, Tenebrae Service, Fri., 04.15.22

Again this year for our evening service on Good Friday, we use the historic office of Tenebrae. We as God's beloved ones observe that Day of days when God in Christ saved us from sin, death, & hell. This service has gradually increasing darkness as it progresses.

The Tre Ore Good Friday service has its roots in Peru several hundred years ago. Seven homilies are preached to God's beloved ones - each homily based on one of Christ's "Seven Last Words" spoken from Calvary's Cross.

Judas asked Jesus: "Lord, is it I?" when Jesus told them that one of their group would betray Him. And, even knowing that, Jesus continued to love all of them. We consider that in our Holy Thursday worship where Jesus gave Himself to His people who He "loved unto the end."

Sunday of the Passion (Palm Sunday), 04.09.22
