Pastor Julian LaMie
Vacancy Pastor for Zion (St. John Lutheran Church, Beecher, IL)
Pastor Julian LaMie hails from Woodworth, IL, a rural community roughly an hour south of Beecher. He was raised in the church and attended Lutheran schools from grade school through college and seminary.
While working on his BA in theology and theological languages from Concordia University Chicago, Julian did a study-abroad program at the Westfield House of Theological Studies in Cambridge, England. It was there that he met Juliana, his wife. Juliana is originally from Brazil, but spent half of her life in England.
Julian returned to Westfield House a second time in 2015 for a year of studies. Julian finished his MDiv from Concordia Seminary St. Louis in 2019. Julian and Juliana have three children. Julian enjoys traveling, and is working on learning Portuguese in his spare time. Email: [email protected]

Pastor Michael Stein has degrees in Computer Network Administration and Information Technology. He later returned to school and received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2014. Pastor Stein then went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri. Pastor Stein has served St. Paul’s (Beecher, IL) since June of 2020.
Pastor Stein has 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education, serving as a chaplain with Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis and at Laclede Groves, Senior Living Community of Lutheran Senior Services. This unique experience provides him with many opportunities to come along side people from different backgrounds to share with them the joy and comfort of God’s love in Christ Jesus. I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1987 with a BS in Finance. I have been a member here at Zion since 1979 when my parents moved to Beecher and we transferred from Trinity in Lansing, IL. I was married at Zion and my two children have both been baptized and confirmed here. I work part-time for Equipment Management Services and I also work part-time in the church office since September 11, 2017. This job came into my life at the perfect time (God always has a plan). I enjoy the job and the people of this church.
